Rammell c. Nwaokai, MS completed his Master of Science in Kinesiology from Penn west California University, a second master of science in human performance from rocky mountain university in provo, UT, his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University, and his Associates of Science from Kishwaukee College; where he played collegiate basketball before commissioning in the US Army.
Rammell’s innovative approach and devotion to pursuing and communicating the most credible and effective soft tissue treatments have resulted in several relationships with medical and healthcare providers throughout the country.
Building upon his strong belief in continuing education and a multidisciplinary approach, he became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) through Parker University and graduated with honors.
He treated athletes in Southern Methodist University’s Sports Medicine Department dealing with diverse musculoskeletal injuries; and provided recovery aspects for all teams from 2016 to 2022.
Mel is an avid triathlete and runner. He clearly understands the physical and mental demands of training and competing. He has completed the US Olympic Sports Medicine rotation assessing and treating Olympic athletes alongside the Sports Medicine staff at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs.
His doctoral research in the Ph.D. program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions focused on mitigating injury risk factors, injury epidemiology, and neuromuscular responses in human performance and recovery science.
He currently serves as a Medical Service officer (RESEARCH Physiologist) in the Army Reserves within the DEFENSE CENTER FOR PUBLIC HEALTH (DCPH) injury prevention branch in Aberdeen proving grounds, MD.
He holds certifications with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Full-body and Long Tract Nerve Entrapment Active Release Techniques (ART) provider, licensed Massage therapy instructor (MTI), Functional and Kinetic Therapy with Rehab (FAKTR), Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES); credentials both endorsed by the exclusive National Basketball Athletic Trainers’ Association and grounded in evidence-based science.
His passion for sports, fitness, and nutrition provides clients and patients with advice in moving forward with a plan of action toward exercise as medicine.
